Are there any SCID vs PC users here? Anyone?
Scid vs PC and .epd find-best-move test suites - How does it work?

Yes, there are many Scid vs. PC users here. I'm one of them and in 2012 I put up a website devoted to this interface.
No, unless I'm missing something, Scid vs. PC is not quite designed for what you're describing. (As a training tool.) Yes, the program can load the EPD files just fine, and display the positions, and allow you to step through them, but it won't give you any "feedback" if you chose the right (or wrong) move.
Of course, you can load the file and step through the positions one position at a time and while doing so, simply examine and study the position and attempt to figure out what the best move is. (The side to move will always be known by the side-to-move marker.)
When you think you have it figured out, only then do you look up at the BM (best move), in the popup window. If you got it right, great. If not, study it again to determine why you were wrong and confirm the bm really is the best move. Or at that point, turn on your engine for confirmation. So there is really no need to actually "make the move on the board." Just make it in your head.
But no, the program won't keep score of the positions you got right or wrong, it won't grade your performance, etc. If you're looking for something like that, you'll have to look for a different piece of software.

Mr. Collins, thank you for your detailed answer!
And, btw, I had already come across your website and it was the main source of information I got about the SCID's interface. So, my special thanks to you for that as well!
You know, perhaps what made me expect more from the program is the SCID vs PS's features like "Play > Mate in ..N.. puzzle" and
"Play > Training > Find Best Move".
And, btw, that "Find Best Move" thing is still a mystery to me. If the mate-in-N puzzles work by default, the "Find Best Move" one do not. (When I choose "Find Best Move" it says "No games in database")
There's a thread on this forum called Tactics flag (here: http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/tactics-flag) where it's said that the database has to be prepared first. I tried to follow the instructions (to prepare it) but I still couldn't make that thing working.
Here's the thread I created in the Scid Users group where I asked about this: http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/quotfind-best-movequot-feature-and-quotmark-tact-exercisesquot2?cid=21940662#last_comment
but unfortunately there was no reply.
I know this is already off topic, but I'd be very grateful if you at least briefly could answer to this one as well.
Thank you very very much, Edward.

ScidvsPC has many training options and new will come soon.
You can use Best move, opening training, mate search, stoyko exercise, play with computer while coach is watching or play a specific opening against the computer, and soon to follow games of GM at you own, like scid does.

Thank you, KingDeathfrombeautifulGreece for your help!
I replied to your answer there.
Hello,
I'd like to know is there a way to use Scid vs PC as a training tool to solve (find best moves in) those .epd test suites? That is, for example, I make a move and get some pop-up window notifying me whether the move was right\best (i.e. it correlates to the bm from the .epd file) or not.
And if there is such a way to do it in Scid vs PC, could you be so kind to explain to me what should I do to get it working that way?
Many thanks!
PS.. I couldn't find any tutorial on the web on this subject and it seems there's no manual for the program either (just the tiny help file that does not address the issue).
