You could post a thank you note on his profile:

Yes, I thought of that, but it doesn't seem possible to write on it. I think because chat is disabled when (he?) is playing there is some sort of block......?
The user probably disables chat every single time he plays live chess due to previous bad experiences with rude players. This is not a block at all and you should be able to post in his topics, send him a message on his profile or PM him.
If you can't post on his profile, this is probably because he prevents every single person from doing this due to a bad experience with rude players, again.
What you can do, is PM him, send him a trophy or both and just maybe you will change his/her mind about people on the internet!
Sorry to be dense, but I can't seem to find a way of getting to the old site - this is a fairly new account, so I don't seem to have the option.
Does anyone know how to award a trophy using the new site?
The highlighted icon (which may be on the top or side) will switch you back to the old site -v2.
In v3 the highlighted icon will let you send a trophy.
I think this thread should be permantly archived, or made into a sticky. Nice to see posts about a good, fun outcome of a chess match here, rather than the usual,...well, you know how they usually go!
You're also missing the "menu at top or side" icon. That's weird. You might want to submit a ticket to technical support. in v3 just click on the "report" icon that looks like a bug. It will automatically send a screenshot along with your explanation.
In the meantime, try typing in www.chess.com/switch to change back and forth from v3 and v2.
Just played 8 games against this member, and enjoyed myself immensely. Unfortunately the chat is disabled, so I couldn't say thanks for the games, and particular thanks for playing someone who is over 400 rating points below you. I appreciate it.
