Should Carlsen's title be revoked?

He may have lost, but he did better than all the others.

carlsen should give anand a knights odd to make the match more interesting.

Avatar of probaddie

He should lose more than his World Championship title; he should be stripped of his GM title and be banned from ever participating in another FIDE-santioned event for the rest of his life. Hell, if there was some way of enforcing it, I'd say he should never be allowed to touch another chess piece again.

Race to 3000?!? More like race to 2000!

I'm with whatever Namtaan decides, if she says we should behead carlsen so be it, if not he'll live.

In Medieval Times he would be burned for such treason like this!
Making people believe he is a genius and in fact he is just human!!!

Who was it who said that they never beat a healthy opponent?

It was Polgár Zsuzsa (Susan Polgar).
When she was still a kid and started beating the well known strong men in the chess clubs, they often made exuses, such as "Ah, but I'm too sick to play", etc. and so she responded once: "I've never beat a healthy man in my life".

Tartakower said it first.

Tartakower wrote it down first. Actually, I think Henry Bird was on record for saying it even before Tartakower.

Oscar Wilde was once at a party when James Whistler, the painter,  said something witty. He replied, "I wish I had said that!", to which Whistler responded, "You will, Oscar, you will." I get the impression Tartakower was similar.

More like race to the exact rating he started with minus one point.

If you did not realize I was trolling hard here (which I do ocassionally), then you need to lighten up, or go outside of the fortress of solitude you call home.

Yes, as soon as possible. I was thinking FIDE should also fine him, but maybe that's a bit harsh.

Agreed. But one hundered hours of community service would benefit everyone.

How about fifty lashes with the cat-o-nine-tails?

It's an outrage really and it's a disgrace to be World Champion and not win every game.

The joke only works when there is actually some noticeable change in his rating. Otherwise it just sounds random. But that's just my taste I guess :)

His title shouldn't even have been voked to begin with.

Avatar of rooperi

I think he should be made to do 100 TT excercises, to prove he can really play. If he does;nt know Boden's Mate he wont even hit 1800

And people with no sense of humour should be made to read the Russia thread instead of this one...

Having to read the Russian thread is cruel and unusual punishment.

I hope Anand does better against his next challenger.
