What are your best lucid dreaming techniques to dream about chess?
should I intensively think about chess before sleep to maximize improvement???

Your ratings are high already. Do you want to gain the FM title? It's best to sleep without chess thought. I don't recommend using a chess board or chess books as pilow too. I have peers who went on to become NMs and IMs. Their main source of chess improvement are Chess Informants or Informator.

every night I play a Najdorf game in my head until I make a mistake, and then I analyze it the next morning
Apparently no one here has passed 1st grade science (except me of course). Completely honest, your question has no thought put into it. Thinking while you are sleeping has no benefits. Either way, your brain is taking a break. You can't even think while you sleep. You can dream, but not think.

I’ve heard the brain is more active when you sleep. Is that true?

Ok so you're saying I shouldn't intensively think about chess before sleep, because I won't be able to fall asleep.

Do you think I should think about chess slightly before bed (so that I can fall asleep and still improve at chess at night) or should I really not think about it at all?

It is enough to have a position not too complicated set up for you to see as decoration. This will keep your chessbrain open.
Isn't it bad for health to sleep near electronic devices?
The blue light coming from the screen does make it harder to fall asleep if you are staring at the screen
But if youre not looking at the screen (or use a night light setting that some phones have) then you should be fine

Sleep serves the purpose to consolidate memories. If you want to improve at chess, devote time during your day for deliberate practice, and get a good nights sleep. No need to do your deliberate practice right before you fall asleep, unless that is your preferred time to practice. Rehearsing information is great for memory, but just focus on going to sleep when it is sleep time.

That's good advice!
