i only play 10 minute games, so i dont know if there are any incriments in the other modes...but there are alot of times when either i get a winning posistion or losing posistion, but i or my opponet dont have the time to get the checkmate, time runs out.... i dont really like that... i think once you get under 30 seconds, it should be 30 second incriments after every move

Why not just start with more time? The general rule (at least for USCF, I believe), is to add the original time plus delay. So a game 30 could be 30 +0, 25 + 5 (the new trend), or, concievably, 1 + 29.

If you want to play a 10 + 30, just start a 40 minute game? or perhaps a 35 + 5?

As far as I know there is no option to change the delay setting once the clock reaches a certain point in time. That would encourage taking longer in the beginning.

If you are not capable of wisely managing your time, 10 min chess is not for you.  45 45 is a popular option.

30 seconds extra per move in a 10 minute game?  That's an extra 10 minutes every 20 moves.  A 100 move game could take two hours.  That's not blitz anymore.

Having ONE second of increment can help in time pressure.  5 seconds should be plenty to avoid running out of time in an obviously won position.  30 seconds is just overkill.
