Chesserroo2

That is the older version of chess. Instead of rooks, they have cannons, which move like rooks except in order to capture something they have to jump over something in between them and the piece they are capturing.

They have pawns, but they move and capture a bit differently. I don't know what happens if they reach the other side.

There is no queen Instead there are two guards that must stay in a box the king is stuck in. They can only move diagonally.

There are knights, but they don't teleport. Instead, they can be block since they move two in one direction and then diagonally.

There is one other piece but I forgot how it moves.

The starting positions are different too.

Pieces are on intersections rather than on squares.

And the pieces on most boards just have the name of the piece writen a flat disc in chinese characters, rather than a 3D figure.

I don't know how the complexity of the game compares to chess. I did play it online for a while, and there definitely is a wide spectrum of skill, and I was near the bottom.
