So... I'm a noob

First game on chess.com, I figure I'd go anywhere from 800 to 1250. Got matched with an 1150 or so. After what seemed to be an equal midgame, I see a bishop/rook fork! Yes! I move my knight, and he forks MY bishop and rook. I go for the rook trade - equals better than losing! I am so excited... and I hang my queen. I promptly resign. Lesson learned: don't get too excited. Probably 500 right now >. <

don't justify terrible blunders like that! they must be eliminated like chlamydia!

BlargDragon

Chlamydia did nothing wrong.

Major-Burbank

Ok, eliminated like, lemme see, how about more that two peas in a pod ?

BlargDragon

There's no reason to discriminate against pods for the number of peas they have.

Major-Burbank

a straight couple in a gay biker bar then ?

why resign fight on

If your new play longer time control blitz is not real chess

Once as a beginner I thought for a long time on a move, and, by my estimation, came up with probably the most brilliant move ever played in chess history...

Then my opponent played a move and I lost my queen to an elementary tactic lol. I was shocked at the time.

Come on Lexi, shake yourself.   Blitz isn't really chess.  More of a sop for instant gratification junkies.

OP made a good start, recognized the noobiness of a bad move. It's like when an alcoholic finally says "right, I have a problem!" they face up to it and say yes to life, just like the OP is saying yes to antinoobiness.

LexiSilva

It was a 10 min game, not 5 min or something crazy

Thank you! Sorry though, I'd rather play live games than correspondence.

No you won't be getting any chances if your pocket is empty. That's the whole damn point, and I imagine many of us to be contemplating these days. Seems at times almost as if we were all born this way. It's all about classes, you know, of people, but if he hugs you, check your kidneys haven't been removed.

Major-Burbank

whatever happened to "two's company, three's a crowd" ?

TRextastic

Haha. I have hundreds of stories just like that. You should try out longer time controls so you can really evaluate your position and think about all the possible moves. Also, I have found the lessons on here incredibly helpful.

You seem pretty smart, I bet with enough dedication to learning you'd fly right past me in ratings.

Major-Burbank

he sounds like a kinky bugger!

I was once told that you learn nothing when you win. seems right as when i lose a game i try and see where i made the mistakes and how to correct them for future games.
