I'm planning to improve my level a bit. like taking it to 1400-1500 and Instead of learning openings I was told to study endgames. What is it there to study?

· Checkmates?

· Some ideas? like lucena and there was one another..

· Pawn endgames?

can someone sum it up? chess dot com has video lessons i guess, or should i go youtube?

cant hire a coach to improve my hobby game, cant afford.. or actually dont want to. I'm not at polgar sisters age btw.. looking for more practical advices

@GabeMiam10 I'm looking for interactive courses, like videos or apps. Please dont trigger book fans and make me a target..

Couldnt you just cover pinpoints and suggest me a few casual web resources. which feels easier..

chessable courses are great. it's been a while since I've be on chessable and I don't remember exact names but endgame courses are great. chess.com endgame courses also great

I dont know much about chessable but chess.com courses are too short. they are usually 3-4 minutes lessons with 5-6 quizes.. which actually asks you the exact questions they just taught you

My best bet seems like youtube videos, but in that regard i need to know what i'm gonna search for.. that takes us the original question of mine.. which subjects cover a complete endgame study?

Personally I think the chess.com lessons are useful. If you want practice that isn't straight from the video, you could try going to the Endgames section under the Learn tab, and finding whatever endgame you want to practice there. Since you have a diamond membership, chess.com should have all the resources you need.

6, eh... youtube is a bit iffy. as far as I know of ChessMastery is the only guy who has a lot of endgame learning focused videos. Most youtubers are for entertainment, puzzles, openings.

I just checked It's 'Chess Mastery' (a space between) or ChessMastery101.. which one? First one i guess

And I also found this playlist, Danya made a serie for endgames it seems. Starting with "King Activity" and he said that it will cover everything.. like weak squares, pawn structures and all. Watched the first video, he is using real matches as examples (which intrigued me more)

silmans book of endgames

And I received a PM from a guy, suggesting the same. I'll stick to 1-2 youtube channels and try to get my hands of this book. No need to go wild, these look sufficient for da start. thanks.

End Game

That is an awesome playlist, I highly recommend it. Be sure to pause and rewind frequently as it's very information dense.

Most useful thing to practice in end games is pawn end games. Especially rook pawn end games. Knowing how to create a passed pawn, or prevent one from your opponent, is going to be the most common, most impactful thing in your games.

End game puzzles are the most useful kind of puzzles, because unlike mid game puzzles, you'll frequently get the exact position of an end game puzzle in your games.

You have diamond so rather than buying chessable courses just do lots of chess.com lessons on endgames, it will give you more generalised ideas and some specific scenarios to memorise. In my opinion chessable courses are better than chess.com lessons but if you already have chess.com membership there is no point not taking advantage on the lessons you have
