Some days are better than others???

Why is it that some days I feel like I can see everything on the board and beat players well above my average, then there are other days when I can't see anything and loose to players much worse than I? It is entirely frustrating and makes me wonder why I continue to play. Is this a game for sedated, boring, catatonic people? Because whenever I feel a little aggressive and want to break out of the boring "same old openings" I loose, but when I am tired and lethargic I beat everyone I play. Frustrated and tired of trying to figure out a game that drives me nuts - and keep in mind I am a 5 handicap golfer - so I am quite familiar with challenging games. WTF!!??

I understand how you feel - today was one of those days for me... played horrible 3 minute games and didn't do too well in bullet either.

What you're describing is natural, and probably the best solution is to quit chess for a few days. Just play chess to have fun!

The only problem is it is like a downward spiral. The worse I play, the more agitated I get, then I want to play more to try to win again. I frankly do not think that chess is for me. I hate losing about 10 times more than I enjoy winning. F it. I'm outta here - got better things to do.
