stalemate sucks!!

Without it, chess would be much less complex. Not because of the situations where the player with superior position mess up, but because of some endgame positions. The positions where one of the players is 1 pawn up would be an automatic win because there is no stalemate.

thank you for your answers "nklirstic" and "Iamboard1" (Im not going to asnwer any unrespect comentaries of other a sholes with empty minds). Just my humble amateur opinion is that is not fair drawing a game which is almost won. Even if this should be concluded by a strategic checkmate win.
I'll put you an example. Imagine in a football game one team is winning 7-2 to the rival. Suddenly the opponent keeper starts to stop all the balls thrown on his goal. And the only way for the winning team to win is to score a final goal on his corner. If not, the final result will be a tie, no mattering what happened till now with the 7-2 previous... Up to me, is not fair. A draw is a too much price for the team who was losing all the game.

That is the thing, chess is not that comparable to football in most cases.
I'll give you a counter example. I had the game where I was done for. I had to give up a queen in order not to get checkmated and I would be left with 2 minor pieces down. But, I noticed that the checkmate is not easiest to spot because there was an inviting option of checking my king and then taking my rook. I tried to trick him, so I didn't give up the queen and he took the bait, took my rook and I had a forced checkmate in 3.
By your definition, he had an almost won game and it is not fair that I checkmated him because he was up in material and had a forced checkmate.
Chess is a different kind of animal so to speak. You have to be careful at all times because you can draw a "won" game or even lose it.
And trust me, it would be very boring to get in the endgame where you are up 1 pawn and the opponent resigns outright because there is nothing to do. Things like king opposition would have lost its meaning as it might become irrelevant, and generally it would simplify the game.
And all because sometimes we can be careless and mess up a win. It is my fault when I do something like this:
In my defense I did it when I restarted playing the game, but I can still make a mistake like that (probably not in this manner but something a bit less extreme might happen). Anyway if they change this rule chess would lost some of its appeal as it would become less difficult than it is now.
You would as well lose some defensive resources that can be really clever. For instance there was this game where one player was a lot behind in material but had a beautiful trick. He checked the king with his rook and if he take the rook it is a stalemate, and if not it will be a perpetual check. That was a really clever play by the guy who was lost before that move.
So you see, it is not that simple. It is not only the thing of when we mess up a winning position. There is much more to stalemate than you see as a novice player.
If you remove the rule it would be like trying to swat a fly with a sledge hammer. More harm than good would be done. And besides if you think about it, you as a player can avoid it completely by being focused on the game as much as you can.

Your answer was realy helpful, "nklristic". Хвала Вам много. You open my eyes. However it really sucks when you lost concentration at the last moment when you are winning and later u draw... haha happened to me several times. I know, im just a beginner. Cheers, mate!

You're welcome. Thank you for the "Cyrillic effort". Yes, it is one of the worst feelings in chess when you miss an opportunity for a win, but it just happens from time to time. We are only humans after all.

you dont know how much i understand your feeling..... conclussion: you have to be very concentrate till end of game, and look always for a checkmate

On the one hand, it is not that the losing player "cannot move". He can, but he will be killed. That's the point. We were just resigned of drawing a game which was almost won... On the other hand, I also understood the meaning of it finally... (after getting mad at myself lots of times I have to say lol). It only helped me once not to lose a game, but I drawed many because of it. Now of course, i understood I had to do much more to checkmate it quicker instead of only overwhelm the king with my pieces.
