Starting to be interested in chess as an adult and how to reach 2000 blitz?

Ironically I'd suggest staying away from blitz if you want to ever reach a 2000 rating in blitz. You will not learn the fundamentals of more complicated strategy or anything if you just spam 3min games. It might also take you longer than you realise. It's a lot of work and every 100 rating is harder than the previous.

10|0 Rapid or Rapid with increment is what you want to play. Anything shorter will just make it much harder to improve.

You played 1755 Blitz games over the last few months and it doesn't seem that you improved much, if at all. Whatever you are doing isn't working. Improving at 900 rating shouldn't be hard. Play longer time controls and study every part of the game and improve on it, increase your understanding and knowledge day by day.

Sorry

Beg his forgiveness I meant. As if you truly mean it.

He already said sorry to the man, which is not an easy thing to do. There is no need to escalate it anymore.

If I've already said something in the first place when he was mistaken, I felt obliged to say something in his defense as well when he was right. If I didn't, I might have been biased.

Beg his forgiveness? Yes, I probably hurt him and I shouldn't have done it, but that just seems a bit stupid.

Don't worry, an apology is enough.

Chess improvement comes, mainly, from studying.

Playing (such as blitz) should primarily be used to practice the concepts that you've already studied and learned.

A lot of players make the mistake of thinking that just playing, playing, playing is the secret to improvement. It's not.

Studying, studying, studying is actually the secret to improvement. It's an answer that not everyone wants to hear, unfortunately (because a lot of people find studying "boring"), but it's the correct answer.

blitz might not be the best interest to improve your chess. but you never know.

if you are saying " i'm looking for improving my blitz not my chess" well.. you can study on tricky tactics and flagging your opponent skills.

Probably the best way to get good at fast chess is to first get good at slow chess and then transfer the skills. Slow chess gives you time to think. You can add "pressure from the clock" later.

You don't need a coach pre-2000 imo. I reached (almost) 1800 rapid in a year from being 700-800 rated. Here's my training plan which I suggest you follow. Every day:

Complete 10 puzzles

Do the chess.com daily puzzle

Do at least one 15+10 rapid rated game every day without exception

Patch up your obvious failings in a particular field, like openings or endgames or strategy, but the effort required is minimal in this case.

The key to quick success is consistency - practicing every day AT LEAST with what I said above. Good luck!!

I recommend solving tactical puzzles regularly. There is a thing called 'puzzles' on chess.com. This will help a lot.

Funny how 900 is asking to reach 2000 in blitz. I have never been 900 in blitz and i know that 2000 is very hard to achieve. I am not sure if i ever reach that level. It is super hard.

I think the question really is 'how does one improve at chess?'

The question is how to become an expert and reach 2000 in blitz.
99.99% she won't achieve it.

To get to any specific rating, all you have to do is improve at chess generally.

Yes, very simple - just improve.

If the question is 'How does one improve at chess?' Then surely the only answer is to play longer time controls, analyse  your completed games and study endgames, openings, tactics etc.

Playing blitz chess as a beginner is a game for chancers looking to swindle, dirty flag and get through a game with the minimum of effort. Which is great if you like it that way but if you want to become proficient at chess, as with all things in life, there are no short cuts. There's a reason why every modern day GM's chess roots are in OTB 30 minute rapid play tournaments accompanied by study, analysis and practice.

I just got my internship at Microsoft. Someone tell me how I can singlehandedly code Windows 11.
