5.a4! forcing an even bigger weakness of the dark squares (as the c-pawn needs to move to keep the bishop safe) was quite good.  5...c6 6.e5 I wouldn't doubt is her primary variation with the idea of keeping weaknesses bolted and black cramped. 

 

Black made so many mistakes, but everyone has a lot to learn.

Going by her previous Olympiads Hoareau doesn't seem to be much for premature resignations, this is her position against Abdulsalam in 2010:

She didn't give up, and must really like to play chess. I wonder if she will score a win here, she had an Elo performance of 994 last time, but then she did draw one game and lost the remaining nine.

In the game above she played c6? instead of Re8!! and things ended badly. Today she is white against Bolivia's Estrada, and it is not going to be easy, Estrada is 2000-ish and held at least material equality for more than 25 moves against Kosteniuk in the latest Olympiad.
