STOP SANDBAGGERS!!!

By sandbaggers I mean users who have played thousands of games, won a huge percentage and yet they play unrated with a rating of less than 900.

I paid my diamond membership a small fortune. It wasn't even my intention, I wanted a platinum one, but a mix-up with chess.com caused that.

So I have the right to play in any legal way I please.

But because of these morons I can't. I stand no chance of winning against somebody whose rating should be twice as high as mine.

Bunch of losers, play with your true rating!

Yes, it is unrated. But why should I unknowingly play against somebody who is in fact a lot stronger than me?

Why don't you start a third thread about the same thing, maybe that will help?

It is not a second thread. In the other one I didn't even know if it was legal or not. And now I am beginning to find out that it is quite common.

I find such people despicable. They are losers and they want an easy win.

If all you do is play unrated games, then you'll get better without changing your rating... making you just like them Surprised

But that is not the case. My rating reflects my real strength.

It's not an uncommon phenomenon, it happens a lot in various games that are set up to allow such behaviour, also known as noob ganking :p I would guess it's for the purpose of ego boosting, and yes it's pretty annoying to be the victim of that and getting totally wrecked when you just want to have a fun and somewhat fair game. It's pretty hard to ever learn anything from that as well.

I may be wrong, but I don't think chess.com cares even if you use a computer to play for you in unrated games.

Don't quote me on that though ;)

OP: You appear to be one angry dude on this site. Lots of things annoy you... Move on.

Maybe with good reasons? I paid unintentionally a diamond membership. I have lost a lot of games because of silly reason: poor connection, sandbaggers... Besides when I registered here I didn't go through a registration wizard, I was automatically assigned a rating of 1200, which clearly is too high for me.

So you admit it. When you joined chess.com you was 1200 with a fake ranking that doesn't reflect your strength.

A hypocrite you are.

Playing against stronger people can make you become stronger. Its a true fact.

Avatar of killercrab

how many times are we going to define sandbag?

Avatar of killercrab

oooh, conversation seems contentious

Avatar of Bonny-Rotten

chess has a few friendly people in the game, but in general it's not exactly a fair play "sport", evidenced by the sites odd attempt to make it so. reality bites, people.

Avatar of killercrab

I don't get it

Avatar of killercrab

((+_+))

I think it will only confuse people.

Avatar of Bonny-Rotten

It's unclear how many times we will define it. Depends on if we start running out of new definitions eventually.
