sudden disconnection

Hi guys,Just had a problem with my last game.  In the middle of a game I got a message about sudden disconnection that I have not seen before. My service provider was still functioning I could open a new window but game was frozen.  When I closed out the session and went back in which took all of a minute max it said game abandonned and that I had lost.  A friend of mine had the same problem last week.  What is going on here?

mbc53, sorry to hear about you issue with live chess :( there are quite a few things that could cause a disconnect from the live chess server. Also, the server gives you 2 minutes to reconnect, if you fail to do so in the time given it then deems the game abandoned .

What if you are playing bullet, are you given a 2 minute 'grace' period? or is the game lost if you have say, 20seconds and lose connection?

If you have less than 2 minutes on your clock and you disconnect, you will lose the game on time.

Thanks guys it could be something mentioned in the article but I use firefox and this is the firstime it happened to me and I thought it was interesting that it had happened to a mate of mine last week.
