perhaps this should be the tactic you have to play. As whtie realize you need to check sacrifice your bishop to save your queen.

That still wins a piece.
The tactics trainer often doesn't do the strongest move, in favour of a move which is more instructive.
The only important thing is that you play the strongest moves.

The puzzle makes sense. If white does not capture the rook and instead moves the queen, black will play Qxh1 and win the other rook as well. White will lose a lot of material.

7thSense: I don't think you're playing the way i said it. whites second move, after being threatened with the black bishop should be to play Be3 to h6+.
The rook file is never opened.
Scott: I see what you're saying that it still wins a piece, and that you're still learning to the right thing to do after his bad moves, but I don't think i've ever seen a tactics trainer puzzle where the opponent clearly makes a horrible move.

Kiss my rook: White is not taking the bishop with his queen. He's moving it to where his bishop was before the check.
1. Be3 - Bg4
2. Bh6+ - Rxh6
3. Qe3 and here the queen is safe.

In loads of them the computer allows mate rather than give up loads of material if it's more instructive. This tactic is fine. Your line is in the analysis.

Fair enough I'm wrong. I just thought that based on white's escape from danger that black possibly had a better move. After further analysis that still appears to be blacks best move in the situation.
When the puzzle started making stupid moves for the computer I became too critical.

White can easily escape with their queen by playing Be3 to h6. this checks the black king and allows an escape path for whites queen.
