I have a tactics rating of about 2050 - but I just cannot seem to get over 1500 in blitz, and it's totally doing my head in!!! I think it's because on the tactics i just take my time but surely youd' think I could get above 1530- yet i've been stuck there for months.... any advice?

Maybe because solving tactics puzzles won't make you a good chessplayer.

I don't even know why people believe this nonsense.

Don't screw up the opening. Play your pieces as a team. Find the best squares for your pieces, and the tactics will come naturally.

Play over a lot of games to understand the usual middlegame setups and ideas.

I get amazing attacking games vs noobs not because I'm good at attacking or tactics, but because they let my position become strategically crushing.

Here's a 3|0 game I posted in a different topic. I miss several opportunities and fumble around, but it doesn't matter because my opponent's position is so bad.

You are playing against engine using cheaters is the actual answer; poor guy i know th feeling. just hope you read this before th censors strike back.
