i was just in a match, and the opponent disconnected for literally 5 seconds and got 'abandoned'. i seriously doubt he actually left during that time, but as everyone knows, these devs have implemented this 'feature.' that just randomly kicks people out of games.
it must be hard to build a chess app.

The site has implemented a maximum time being disconnected but doesn't purposely disconnect you. There are a lot of different things that can cause connection issues and other than deciding how to handle them and attempting to capture discounts client side and code to reconnect, there's a lot out of the site's control.
