Kasparov, Lasker, Karpov.
the 3 greatest chess players of all time
Fischer? OK
Kasparov? OK
Carlsen? Oh it was a troll thread the whole time
so carlsen is not one of the greatest chess players of all time
highest rating ever, 16th undisputed world champion, one of the youngest gms ever... youngest world number 1 etc. etc.
ok

Disagree, it goes Capablanca, Fischer, Kasparov. Carlsen still needs to do more to be considered the greatest.

A study was done by computers. I believe it said Capablanca made the best moves according to the computer of any other chess player, not counting the opening because they get built over generations by all the top players combining their knowledge.
"how can you leave out Fischer...?"
Because he played one single title match (against Spassky), was the best player in the world for less than five years, and won maybe six-seven international tournaments in his career. All of that far from what Kasparov, Lasker and Karpov accomplished.

Prime Fischer would of beat Karpov
"how can you leave out carlsen.."
Because at this stage he is far below Fischer.
highest rated elo in the world, youngest number 1 ever, 16th undisputed champion ever....?
are you saying carlsen isn't good?
"are you saying carlsen isn't good?"
Not having accomplished enough at 22 to be counted as one of the three greatest players ever doesn't equal being no good. Maybe a few years from now he might be comparable to Fischer, but he has a long way to go before he can be compared to Kasparov and Lasker who both were #1 for at least 20 years and won numerous title matches.
i think many people would already say Magnus is one of the Greatest of all time

No one before or after Fischer has matched what Fischer did. What I mean by this is the level of dominance that Fischer achieved was just impossible to replicate. 6-0 6-0 in the Candidates over Larsen and Taimanov, 11-0 to win the US Championship, and all this completely by himself as an island without a team behind him. He just took over the world - no other player in history has been as untouchable as Fischer.

Wow there's a difference between not being one of the greatest 3 chess players to ever live and not being good, get a hold of yourself.
