Paul keres 's book.
The best chess book you've ever read

Cheers.
My three favorites:
My System by Nimzovich
Pawn Power in Chess by Kmoch
My 60 Memorable Games by Fischer
Do bear in mind that My System was written a century ago, so it's a bit difficult to read. Pawn Power in Chess is also difficult to read, but for a completely different reason (Kmoch was a madman).

Never completed reading a chess book. But i did like Frank Marshalls book on his best games. The bio on his life is really good.

Thank you guys.I got My System a while ago but haven't got around to study it but after reading your comments I will start studying it then I will try to get the rest of the books.

My system - Aron Nimzowitsch
The art of attack in chess - Vladimir Vukovic
End Game Strategy - Mikhail Shereshevsky
My 60 memorable games - Bobby Fischer
Alekhine’s best games - Alexandar Alekhine

Both Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess and the brazilian one, Xadrez Básico. The two books that gave me the first steps at chess, long time ago, in a galaxy far away...

Test your positional play by Robert Bellin, Pietro Ponzetto.
Masters of the chessboard - Reti
Modern Ideas in chess - Reti

None of these books are relevant to modern chess or anywhere lose to being as good as more modern and up-to-date efforts.
How perceptive of you to immediately spot, from so many kilometers away, that I can't think for myself.

I've read them all, blueemu, and thought that they were all useful in different ways. He's obviously read them all too and knows that they are irrelevant for modern chess. So that's us told.

It makes me happy that there is an active "Pawn Power in Chess" Rebel Alliance on this forum! As I mentioned earlier, the book is a work of genius, often ignored by "modern" students of the game because it takes patience and effort to encompass the material.
Mr Kmoch does not spoon-feed you! He lays out his pearls of wisdom and then turns majestically aside, leaving the reader to either sink or swim on their own merits.
I've read a lot of good books but I'm looking for an incredible book,so I was wondering which book improved your chess to a point were you think without this book I would be way behind in chess
