A lot of big mess happened at the war times!

And the Soviets kick the Alechine out of own country, even he was been the first  Soviet Chess Champion and World Chess Champion!  He never returned to own admirable country... The 'strange' death of  Best King Alechine, at odd  world chess game... A  lot of countries were interested in empty Chess Trounce!?

Please, respect Aleknine!

He was a drunk and a coward with his title.  What else do you want to know?

Aleckhine got annourmous hit pressures on his Life!

Right, thank you! АЛЕХИН, not АЛЁХИН

Avatar of AWARDCHESS

Yes!

АЛЕХИН, not АЛЁХИН,

As he insisted on that by own!

But in Russia the second one will be also correct and much more common by spelling...

Avatar of PenWarrior

But Alekhine himself hated the letter "ё" in his name....

Avatar of AWARDCHESS

Yes, but the Russian Grammar support it correct spelling more...

"Alekhin" may be more accurate than Alekhine. I don't know.

What I find idiotic about english translations is that they lose the pronouncination completely. It should be BotVInnik, not BOTvinnik. They pronounce Petrosian like PetROsian, not PetroSIAN. Come on people, can't you pronounce anything?
