Computers have many fatal weaknesses compared to people:

1.They treat chess from a strictly mathematical standpoint.

2.They cannot plan

3.They lack determination and the will to win.

4.They are very rigid, and therefore lack creativity.

I'll analyze that quote deeper for you. You're using words that you barely know, creating sentences that don't make any sense and, in some cases, aren't even grammatically correct. (For ex: "The resonation of defeat introspective formulates..." - a noun followed by an adjective followed by a verb is not a valid syntax in the English language.) If you want to sound sophisticated and deep, you have to at least make sure that people can undestand you, and to do that you have to use words that you and most other people will understand.

correction- "the resonation of defeat introspectively formulates...

You are correct brah. Don't be mad because i have a better vocabulary than you . Just work harder that is all.

Yet it is supposedly known that the strongest engines consistently win against even the best grandmasters.  I don't understand this aversion to being mathematical.  Also, determination is irrelevant to a machine, since its goal is to win as objectively as possible, and so you can't be any more determined than that.  I also don't understand this forced gap between math and creativity.  Some of the most creative works in human history have links to math.

Well of course what you are trying to say is that the process of introjecting and analysing ones own emotional response ( ie the feeling of power as you say) and that of the other (HUMAN !) opponent can lead to a much greater integration of the parts of oneself, ie the body , mind and soul.

This will not be possible with a computer as the abscence of feedback from the "machine" in effect leaves one in an enviroment devoid of external objects ( in the Melanie Klein meaning of objects ) on which one can test the boundaires of the self and others in a meaningful manner.

That is of course if the opponent does not just knock over their king and stalk out of the playing room.

Nonetheless even this experience allows the possibilty of introspection and the opportunity to decide whether or not your own reaction to this behaviour is in fact a projection ( in other words you are angry at their behaviour but say " blimey he's angry") or a realisitic and objective interpretation of the aforementioned interaction.

Of course there are many layers involved in this, for example the Transactional Analysis concept of Parent Adult and Child.

Is the opponent when walking out acting in one of the child positions, and if you go after them to offer some sort of comfort are you in fact acting as a nurturing parent ?

You can see as I beleive the OP is attempting to say that there is pure chess learning ( ie studying openings ) and there is a deeper level.

However my hand held computer has not yet stomped off or gloated after it beats me - not too much to learn really from that is there ? except maybe I played badly - but why ???

bunch of mumbo-jumbo

Competition is not humanity.  You have an understanding problem with this fact Sharks compete: they eat each other.  Competition is not logical  Cooperation is logicl. Making friends makes sense, making enemies makes no sense unless you want to kill yourself

lmao competition is a byproduct of not only humanity, but every living thing brah.

In fact I seriously doubt whether any of you chess freaks have any humanity at all: I've never met a chess freak who had one ounce of humanity.  They were all mental midgets with no girlfriend and no life except distraction:: which is what chess is.

What are you doing on a chess site if you despise the game and those that play it so much?  Making such sweeping statements about others humanity is ludicrous and shows a serious lack of intelligence.

Whjy am I here?  Making time until my ship cpmes in.  Mental exercise; physical exercise: both are necessary.  I've finishedd a project: now onto the next one

Wrong: study eco-systems. All living organisms cooperate with each other

If they didn't there would be no life on earth

You've fallen into the old Darwin trap thinking you're a chess shark.

By the way who is brah?  Never heard of this word before... except a braying donkey perhaps?

Also the response boxcannot be distinguished from the rest of the web page; and the box for a response has all of that poster's responses out together:  Very illogical way of designing an internet forum

Also the windoiw for posting a responsne is invisible
