The "Daily rating" rebalancing change has been reverted...

RIP your amazing Daily ._.
Indeed.
I am declaring a period of website-wide mourning, for Blue Emu's rating.

Oh well 2300 is a pretty good daily rating...
To be painfully honest, 2351 is almost as silly as that 2751 rating was.

NOTE: “Chess.com has now reverted all rating adjustments referred to in this announcement. We appreciate all of the community feedback and are considering it carefully going forward.”
Hope remains as inside scoop says “going forward” the rating boost was too small. Daily ratings still lagged too far behind ! 😢

Here's some feedback for them:
Forward!

What exactly happened here
Chess.com decided to adjust the Daily (correspondance) ratings, to bring the rating curve more into line with the Bullet, Blitz and Rapid rating curves. This involved increasing the higher ratings by a graduated amount, depending on how far above 1200 your rating was already.
Since I got +400 points, I thought it was an excellent idea. My rating was now only 34 points lower than Bobby Fischer's!.
But not everybody was impressed with the new rating adjustments. Especially the people who got a slap on the side of the head instead of oodles of free rating points.
There was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth. And chess.com changed their mind and took my +400 rating points away again.
Now I'm all bummed out. Damn whiners!
THIS is why we can't have nice things!

Only a selected few got the increase. It appears those already involved in tournament events or inactive received nothing. A whole new leaderboard (that looked like a farce) left off many players who received nothing. It’s simply a bad idea to artificially inflate Daily ratings for several reasons- reasons that far outweigh any perception that blitz and Daily ratings need be inline.
For many players there is quite a rating difference as it is between the disciplines. Blueemu seems to approve of a new profile that would pop-up upon every view. Looks good- but obviously would be deceptive.
The proposal (still under consideration) is for appearance sake only. The top rated players would likely approve- but for the vast majority of players it simply does not work. Creating a new rating pool at the top end would make it nearly impossible for players through hard work to ever catch up.
... and my God-like 2751 rating has shrunk back down to merely mortal proportions.
Now I'm depressed again...
