Chess in person is certainly a different experience from playing chess online.

I do prefer playing in person, while some others enjoy playing online. I have recently begun playing online, and I do find that the difference between playing online and in-person is quite clear. Playing in real life you can see the persons' face and their reactions. You can also enjoy having a nice time together, and a warmer feel, while playing online is quieter and much more concentrated on tactics, battle strategy and functions. What do you think?

Lol your analogy of OTB chess physical exertion vs online play being just like the difference of playing football on the field vs playing it on a video game made me laugh.

It's harder to throw the chess board and pieces into your opponent's lap during fits of despair when they aren't in front of you. I like OTB better, I think. And I don't take notation of my games, but I've been thinking about videotaping them so that I can analyze the games afterwards.

Yes, in person has psychology. You can look in his eyes, you can see him sweat, you can see how he reacts to your moves, you can see how he moves his pieces.
