The game where I made a Brilliant Move!

There was nothing "brilliant" about the move 21...Rg8+

Mako_Cat

That’s why I asked earlier how many people accidentally play a brilliant move. Rg8+ is just obvious

This was played in a 3|2 Blitz () time control.

Just before you jump into viewing the game, I also wanted to add that this was quite an immense game, not only because of the brilliant move played in it but also because it is the highest rating I have ever gotten in my blitz chess yet (or at least on Chess.com)!

It's down below!

Really the only 'continuation' after Qc6+ would be the one and only move, Qf3, but this is meet with QxQf3# (Mate).

After Qc6+, though, my opponent resigned.

Here's a screenshot of the brilliant move on analysis:

I like that we are here to discuss your "Brilliant" move.  Congrats.

Clearly the OP was excited to discover that he played a brilliant move, but didn't realize it was brilliant until after analysis. I think he's going really good, if he takes out time to study his games, even after a win. It's what I should be doing....

+1

I mean, I knew during the game that it looked like quite a great move. Either my opponent was 'meet' with mate, or I would have gone up a queen. . .

Nice @ annoyingtriangle!

Thanks Aida - I'll have to translate xD on google but I'm sure its something nice LOL

I am not saying you can't be proud of having made a "brilliant move" but like other said, they do happen. The most important detail is not how the move turned out to be, but whether you tried to calculate it and expected it to be brilliant.

While I was playing the game I saw that it was a great move for me (if I remember). . .
