The Greatest Swindle in Chess HISTORY

Sort:

This is an OTB game I played a while back. It is the greatest swindle in chess OF ALL TIME. I rescued the irretrievable through my Giri-like endgame technique. Papa Frank Marshall would be proud of me.

You swindled a draw? Yawn.

Somalian championship/Wisconsin???

Reports have been submitted. I cannot stand for this abusive abuse.

Not only are you insulting my immortal game, you're insulting my chess ability as a whole, and the location I live in.

Did quick replay for 1-2 mins. I saw that black missed this easy tactics.

 .27.................Rxf4

28.  Qxf4 Qxc3

and white is gg!

A normal  game around that rate though! null

I didn't use engine for that tactics. If I use engine, i usually attach engine eval references( depth , nps ,duration of analysis etc)

oh come on

if this is a joke its a terrible one

i could've won easily as white

you just drew because your opponent made mistakes

not because of your so called "brilliant move"

you are too conceited and proud of yourself

non of Karpov or Marshall would've been impressed

your so called "Giri-like" endgame technique? pathetic

all your pride have inflated your already overlarge head

if i were black i wouldnt lose that knight in the first place

i'd like the register my astonishment that such a fool ever became a chess player

i'd advice you to keep your pig-head down

this attention, you'd only embarrass yourself

let Capablanca Karpov Giri and all those people you mentioned to look at your "immortal game"

they would scoff and tear your imaginary autograph pen into 2

keep your "brilliancies" down until maybe if you become a respectable GM

but thats 0% chance of happening man

lol

thank you for your wise words

you deserve a medal for your punctuation and spelling

i had no idea a chess player could be so knowledgeable and humble

i'd like to register my astonishment that such a modest character could be a chess player

i wonder how such a great chess player like you is not a respectable GM

lol

All right even if it wasn’t the best game you’ve ever seen doesn’t mean you have to be rude about it. Oh and SpiderUnicorn if your so amazing why don’t one of your “amazing non pig-head “games and see how it feels to be laughed at

https://www.chess.com/live/game/1040412309 is much better, considering he had 0.1 seconds left. I've had much better than that tho

The engine suggests:
27. ... Qb2 or b5 or Rfg8
Black has the ... Nxd4 to follow in @drmrboss line, there is also the f3 fork square.

As long as Rf4 is practical enough, the evaluation does not matter.

Practically failed as well. After my tactics,  white can play g4  resulting a very strong passed pawn for white.

29. g4!!

It's nice to know I live in a place you wrote as a joke. (Wyoming)

This is not the greatest swindle in history, but I won an exchange down endgame. I went into this endgame as I fell for a knight fork. I sacrificed a pawn to keep a pair of rooks on the board. The opponent made a mistake and let me get 2 connected passed pawns; he was still better, but he couldn't find the way to stop my pawns and I won.

If there was a book - 900 Billion Greatest Swindles Ever Volume 1 - that wouldn't make Volume 84.

who resurrected this year-old thread. venkata? Let the dead rest in peace. Geez. Do we have to put a stake in its heart or what.

(Said as one who has resurrected a hundred threads ... necromancy! muahahahaha )
