The personality of a French defence player

On my way up I've encountered many French defence players.
Most of the time, I lose to these players because I'm ill-prepared. The primary reason for my lack of preparation is that I have certain expectations for my fellow chess players. Expectations for honesty, and good gamesmanship.
I believe in a world where chess players play genuine, beautiful, and creative chess. I believe in a world where chess players don't settle on using cheap tricks to fool their opponent. Obviously, French defence players fit in the latter.
The question I ask is, how miserable does one have to be to employ the French defence? What kind of sick satisfaction do these people get from beating someone with such a bore-inducing play style?
Thank you,
Vlad
Have you ever concidered playing well?
Or is complaining natural for you
I'm new to chess so I have some very curious questions. Where do you see a complaint? All I did was make an observation. Are you a French Defence player?

I am a French Defense player. We're not honest and we don't display good gamesmanship.
Genuine, beautiful and creative chess??? You've got to be kidding!! What kind of chess is that?
Most of our moves are nothing but cheap tricks ! We are unimaginative, dull plodders ---that's why we play the French! We're basically nothing but dim-witted accountants with eyeshade hats.
Indeed we are the most miserable, the most vile, utterly disgusting types of chessplayers that exist and we derive sick satisfaction from dragging our opponents into the most boring type of chess games imaginable.
We have no plans other than grab an errant pawn and hang on till the end of the game. There is no hope for French Defense players, indeed we are doomed to live eternally in the Dante's inferno version of chess!

@Skinnyhorse I respect your admission, but its still doesn't answer the question: What satisfaction do you get from doing these things? For example I play chess because I yearn for excitement inducing stimuli. Are you actually seeking ways to be more miserable?

I like it because it eliminates a lot of the popular lines that patzers like myself learn. I think it is a very aggressive opening.
It's incredibly nice that you posting pictures of Korchnoi out of context, but why do you think that French Defense is very aggressive opening?

I have to agree with you there @Skinnyhorse, I play the french defence sometimes and its not bad, some variations are sharp but others are very quiet. That's what chess is fun, beautiful sacrifices and very creative especially with the French Defense.

@2Q1C's blitz rating: ~1050
@2Q1C's daily rating: ~1375
@shcherbak's blitz rating: ~1330

Let's also not forget that 2Q1C is delusional and believes he/she is a "Future World Champion".

Talk about honest Vlad? You say your FIDE rating is 2883 on your profile....lol. Actually, it takes much more skill to play defensively than the other 90% mindless attackers on this site.

I don't mean to confuse you with that. That's not actually my real rating, I don't actually have a real FIDE rating. I'm sure I made a thread on that if you need more information. Anyway, the "FIDE rating" that I put there should be look upon more as my goal than the actual reality. Sorry for appearance of dishonesty, but I doubt anybody would have believed that it was my rating. All they would have to do is go on the official FIDE list to prove I'm not there.
