Try Complex and Tricky openings
The problems with the london system and caro kann + why they are so hated.

I play the london and caro almost exclusively. I have faced opponents who knew how to play against the london and caro. It doesn't lead to a collapse. It leads to a fight, which is what should be expected when pitted against someone of equal level.
What you describe about the london and caro is more of the player just not knowing their opening well enough. They play a few moves that they saw online or in the book, then they're on their own. This isn't exclusive to london and caro. It happens to any opening. We just see it more often in the london because more people play it.
We must realize that players who know how to deal with certain openings are well versed and likely often played that opening as well. Why do we only take note of the player who doesn't know how to play it and lost and not the player who knew how to play it and won?
to say you know your opening well enough you must be able to competently play both colors. Not just as white for london, or as black for caro.
But Only for black....
