On solving extremely hard puzzle (for me) like 2400-2500 they give 3-4 points and for wrong for same kinda puzzles they take 10-15 points.
Puzzles have a number of factors in how many points you get or lose.
It doesn't mean it's right. I've seen a lot of trash on chess.com the way they program things. They need to move away from budget coders and hire experiences programmers. chess.com puzzle ratings is pure trash
Imagine u are in a world chess cup final, u can't afford to lose and its a 10 min game As I see one of ur puzzles took 7.5 mins for u to solve Imagine if this very position crops up and u yet dont know the puzzle yet U simply cant afford to use 7 mins
Think before giving all blame on deva bro They work day and night to improve puzzles just for us so we can improve

Puzzles were pretty much abandoned a couple of years ago with the promise that the whole system will be renewed. Nothing happened.
Nowadays, there is not even a way to report a broken puzzle.

It may have a number of factors, but that doesn't mean the factors are correct. The scoring is pure trash because they give you puzzles that take away 20 to 30 points, because the puzzle was created over a decade ago and was not adjusted for the new puzzle scoring system. It's pure laziness on the part of chess.com and it makes me wonder why I pay these lazy idiots the money that I do for a broken service.

Higher point losses are due to the difference in puzzle rating and the member's puzzle rating. If you're 2800 and fail a 1900 then that's going to have a larger change than failing a 2400 rated puzzle.
You're replying to a topic that predates some changes to the puzzle system that rolled out site wide in early July. One of those changes is an addition of a puzzle Difficulty setting. The default is Standard which will give a set of lower average puzzles rating-wise, which exacerbate that. Changing to Hard or Extra Hard will make it less drastic, for many members.
Here's some information about the new system from staff; the mentioned changes are likely releasing soon.
We are currently working on a significant overhaul of our puzzle difficulty system and puzzle ratings. Over time, the current puzzle rating algorithm created highly inflated puzzle ratings for our members — and consequent inaccurate estimates of a puzzle difficulty. As we roll out our new system, you may see some inconsistencies in your puzzle stats, and rating changes from puzzles solved and missed may be greater than in the past.
We ask you to wait with us just a bit longer! Since in the coming weeks we will be publishing an entirely new rating system for puzzles for all members. We’re confident it will be a major steps towards our ultimate goals:
- Provide a more meaningful rating which correlates more closely to player’s Blitz and Rapid ratings.
- Serve puzzles better suited for each player’s level.
- Offer options to member who are looking for different puzzle-solving experiences.
when u get a puzzle wrong they don't care how much time of your life you wasted. They only care how many moves you got correct, and some moves count more than others.
