Cabadenwurt, are you German?

--- Yes but I've been in Canada for over 50 years now.

That's nice to hear. Smile I lived in Canada too (Winnipeg) but just for merely one year.

Dort war es sicher auch schöner als im kriegszerstörten, geteilten Deutschland ...

Looks like, then, we are all here.  Smile

7, 7.5 or 8 million "members".  The question being, what is a 'member'?

Is it, as seems likely, a one-time visitor and registrant who on average never returns here?  Or is it something else?

Yeah, SFTAC, that's probably what it is.

I'm in live chess right now, and there's only 8130 people on it.  That's only 0.1% of the "members."

I think it reasonable to assume the active membership is something like 10 or 20 times that, which suggests around 1-2% of 7.5 million or 80-160,000 (and perhaps 5% of those are 'Premium'/paying members or about 4,000 to 8,000).

4-8 thosand paying members-not too shabby I'm guessing!

Eight million? I don't think this is sustainable. I'm a Malthusian at heart - I predict that disease, famine, or war will ravage the site, leaving bands of armed roaming misfits scavenging the forums for gasoline, water, and food.

Ladies & Germs what we have here is the return of " Mad Max " ( not a bad series of films BTW ).
