JEMORANGE: what game games did you look at ?
lewisksouwgh: you think you're smarter? lol
Good news. Mine went from 132 then up to 134 the 2nd time I took it (must be a glicko rd of around 2 points lol I wonder if I'd make a 136 on my 3rd attempt!?) and my "online chess" is currently over 1400. So if yours is 137, you should be able to squeeze an extra hundred chess points out of the extra smarts easily.

Is this kid really that stupid?
Hey hey hey calm down now man, no need for that.
I take no comment directed to me or anybody here serious.
Ok if they insult theirselves i worry about it.
1500 is just a number. In most rating systems it is about the average rating for experienced tournament players. Here it seems to be quite different. 1500 is in the top 10% of all players on this site! My current 1616 blitz rating puts me in the top 5%! In standard 1654 puts me in the top 2%.
It took me about two days to get these rating levels, but that's because I've been playing tournament chess for many years and am rated expert (2056) in the Canadian Chess Federation.
If I was in the top 2% of a normal Elo/Gliko based system I would have a rating of at least 2100, but here I get 1658.
Is this because the players here are much weaker than the average run of tournament chess players in other systems? I suspect so, but I can't find any statistics on the site. I wish the rating system here was better documented and the distribution of ratings made public.
Yes you have 1600 in blitz and 1500 in standard here, but looking at your games profile, in blitz your average opponent rating is 1481, in standard your average opponent rating is 1382(and you only have 11 games, meaning your standard rating here is only an estimate, a win alone on a first game in estimate rating will give 30 poinst above, but once it stabilize, a win against player hundreds points lower than you will only give you 4 or 5 points). To accurately know your blitz rating and standard rating here, you should have atleast 100 games(in my opinion), and are playing an average rating of opponents proportion to your rating.
you seem to be good for some one sooo new - however your current rating is higher than me and ive played over 100 games :( 1500 is a tough rating to get but goood luck
It is only tough if you believe it to be tough. On getting to 1500. If the next man gets and the man next to them gets and the guys behind them get then you can get it.
Hey if i had a computer like i was using when i was taking courses i have no problem. They were on top of the Internet access, those days were fun. Lightning fast than any computer i used any place.
Yeah... but I'm not afraid of 1500, when I'll start to play for real i'll get it real fast I'm sure. If I can be 1300+ without adding my 2 unrated last games (won) against people of 1450-1550 rating and without a lot of chess knowledge, I'm sure I can hit 1750 in 3 months.
But I'll need to train at normal games because I seem to be blind when I have less time then online games.
To get 1500 in chess.com it took me 750 games in blitz 3/2. My IQ is 125 and I have a PhD that is to say that I consider myself smarter than the average population. Those who claim to reach 1500 in less than 100 games are genius or liars if starting from a beginner level. Keeping your level above 1500 is even harder than just reaching it. I think the correct way to evaluate someone strengh is the average opponent rating
The title says it all... How much time or games it normally takes to get to 1500 online rating?
Because If my last game were rated and the one I currently play, I would easily be 1500.
But... I saw a lot of people who are this rating and played at least 10 times the amount of games I played and I find it weird.
I learned chess and started with a 714 rating, 3 months later I reached 1600

If DeidreSkye reads the second sentence of this post he's going to be seething. But yeah, nobody reaches 1500 in just 100 games if they're not genius children coached by their GM parents
Oh and nice necro

If you're already an IM, a couple of years sounds fair to me.
