How much do you study? its important to understand theory, practice tactics every day, and absorb lots of information. if you want to get better it takes a good amount of commitment. understand opening theory, some tactical precision, and having a plan through the game and constantly asking how to improve your position are key, and learning any of these will cause you to raise a few points. its probably impossible to only play chess and never study if the goal is to gain mastery. if you are doing things like these, keep going and try even harder, and you will raise points.
