To Get Better

Okay, what is the use of books if there are many chess tactics online. Also, I am using Lucas Chess for my training. Do we really need books to get better at chess?

urk
I got a hell of a lot more out of books than the Tactics Trainer here. Even an old Fred Reinfeld book is more valuable than Tactics Trainer.
I don't know what Lucas Chess is but I doubt that it compares to a good book.

you can watch youtube videos. also there are masters game in the youtube with commentary. do some tactics. if you are not a blitz player, don't do blitz tactics. study endgames and middle games. study masters games. there are many masters games in the internet with commentary. you must be prepared before the tournament.

good luck...
