Chess does not have secrets. Everything is evident, the question is to see it. wink.png

I'm guessing you didn't read the first post. It's well worth the time to read it.

That's right, folks. I'm about to reveal an ancient, little-known, and extremely controversial, but highly efficient approach for improving your chess skills. It may seem shocking, and it goes against what THEY have led you to believe, but it has been proven to work.

And this method is...

WORK.

Unexpected, isn't it? This crazy but very effective trick was developed in the mountains of Nepal 4000 years ago and has been used by everyone from Steinitz to Carlsen. Not only is it good for your chess, it's all-natural, organic, non-GMO, and gluten-free.

I know what you're thinking. "You're insane! That'll never work! That goes against everything I've read in the forums on chess.com!"

Well, let me address the concerns one by one:

* Instead of actually working on my game, I can just post on the forums asking random strangers to recommend a shortcut for becoming better without studying!

 - Um, no.

* The key to improvement is picking the right opening! I mean, the fact that I start hanging pieces within the first 10 moves of every game is clearly because I answer 1.d4 with the QGA instead of the Slav, and not because I don't work on tactics.

- Um, no.

* I'll get better by simply playing hundreds of blitz and bullet games every day, without even stopping to analyze why I lose!

- Um, no.

* I can get an international title like FM, IM, or even GM magically, just because I want to! Look at all these people on chess.com with those letters next to their username. If they can get them, so can I! How? Who cares! I just know I can! And if I post about it, it'll make it even truer!

- Um, no.

* Oh, I know! The key to improvement is to whine and complain! I'll post on the forums crying, screaming and ranting every single day. The tactics trainer is unfair! The server is too slow! And worst of all, my opponents are all cowardly and unethical! I mean, look at what they do - I earn a victory in the game through my sheer genius, and instead of resigning honorably, they checkmate me. The nerve! As long as I blame everything else besides myself, I'm guaranteed to become a champion.

- Um, no. Also, grow up and stop clogging the forums.

Now that I have assuaged the most frequent concerns, I hope some of you will give this controversial method a try. It may feel weird at first, but stick with it, and you will see that it really produces results.

Good luck, and thank you for your attention.

Couldnt be better said. im 1050 uscf but i work hard every day to improve unlike some people i see here. Heres to hoping there are a few people that spam these forums that witness this truth...

You are guessing wrong. It is also worth asking if I have read it and the intentions of my post. wink.png

can someone stop these titled players from trolling the forums please ?

Sachit_7

In my view FM chuddog is absolutely right. We should work first for improving.Without work only weeds can grow.Lots of players disrespecting this player & his title.I know they only want to show the world that they are genius & they know everything.Even a person should respected even a titled player lots more even he is FM or NM that doesn't matter what is going to happen if IM & GM laughs at them don't matter. What rating you achieve or any title its a word of honour because it's only result of your work.Without work none can eat foods & drink water. Its fundamental thing to achieve anything through work. This is our life & it has lifespan the time alloted us to live.Anyone can live without money, power & fame but noone can't live without doing any single "work" in any hour of life.Life is time give. us to work & lots of work so that we can't bour in our life & spend it until our death comes.

Why "work" hard if you have chess engines?

Ah, that's the point. You must not use them while playing. Haha.

I guess I'm going to report you, well ok I may want to double check the TOS again but I'm pretty sure that posting sensible things in the forum is not allowed.

P.S.: if it doesn't break the TOS kudos to you for pointing out the obvious, and I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, because if 90% of the post in the forum are .. ehm... maybe there was really the need for someone whi will  come and state the obvious.

Hopefully there will be someone who will listen to you.

And how de we know, the OP isn't just anohter one of THEM????

Yoloswagger69

I tried this method and it didnt improve my chess. I went to work every day and worked my a** off but my chess strength is still the same. So I think we should specify what kind of work should be done...

Research published in Scientific American supports the same crazy idea. Weird, huh?
