The process is pretty much the same. Play > Live. In there you can either click the Tournaments tab or the Join a Tournament button/menu item(both are in the right panels).

On the ''old site'' I had no trouble entering a tournament, on the new chess.com I am baffled how to join a standard 5 minute tournament??
