trash talk is disrespectful and is not proper chess etiquette (unless it's made in a playful way between friends,that's different)

i think it is uncalled for and if you have to talk trash to get under someones skin then you are not that good of a player or person for that matter.
I'll only trash talk to friends, never can tell how some people take things, they could be a postal worker.

Really trash talking is only on amongst friends. If you do it to people you don't even know that's just brash and disrespectful. I know a lot of people who really take that kind of stuff to heart..

i love goldendogs dig at that "patzer" who said he didnt believe in psychology he believed in good moves...but his actions surrounding the chess board said otherwise...conscious or unconscious Mr.Fischer involved himself in some real "trash talking" on many occasions-maybe not directly with words but with actions and inference...he also said that his favorite part of a game was when he crushed his opponents ego (dick cavat show)...sounds pretty psychological to me...anyway, if you go by the paradigm that use all resources available, then trash talking IS a vialble resourse...if you follow the idea that this is a gentlemans game then no trash talking! between friends anything goes...i dont like trashing being talked to me so i dont engage in that behavior myself unless they REALLY get under my skin...
