Unfair Lag in Live Chess

Hi everyone,

I have noticed that everytime the ad on the side of the page in live chess refreshes, my ping always spikes and I can't drag the pieces. This has caused me to lose too many games in bullet.

Does anyone else have this problem?

( Or maybe chess.com is doing this on purpose to coerce me into buying premium membership which would remove the ads :P)

Before I got membership, I had the same problem. (I didn't get membership because I wanted to get rid of ads:P) I use google chrome when i play chess, and I just downloaded "Adblock", its free and it works really well. It blocks all ads on all webpages except if told not to. Im not saying you need to download it, but it certainly helps.

Ok thx

I've got premium membership and I still get lag sometimes... but I don't have to suffer ads. Smile

Any other ideas or anyone else experience this?

Yje site seems a tad unstable to me also. On my home comp- Ubuntu + firefox it crashes the browser so i have to restart firefox. Happens also with other sites, but definitely must often with chess.com

On work, windows 7 + firefox it weirdly makes the comp very slow, like chess.com is using a ton of memory. and crashes it sometimes at well.

But no biggie, just start another game or try and panic play with whatever time you have left once you get the site going again

Adblock is shit if I'm direct.

Try uBlock instead.

However, better not using any 'blocker' here.

Get the cheapest membership. Helps chess.com, gets you additional access/feature and problem solved.

If you are roadrunning, like on your profile says, somebody paid for expensive shoes. Mind you, it must have been a small field if a 13 yr old can be a placegetter in the U19 section.

I'm sure they'll pay $30 for a membership.

LOL I don't have expensive shoes though. I just have regular sneakers. Once I was 12 years old when I won 3rd the U12 section in a race with 2058 people overall. But I did place 8th in a U19 section with 1437 people overall.
