The Latvian gambit is quite unpopular. As near as I can tell it involves giving your opponent a pawn headstart.

You can use the gambit I just invented (patent pending) of 1.e4 e5 2. Qh5?! Nf6 3.Nf3?? Nxh5 4. Bf4.
