I was told by a 1800 rated player when I beat him that if I carry on at this level than I could become an international master at least.
You might get there, you might not. But I would take his prediction with a pinch of salt.
1. An 1800 player is not strong enough to make that sort of judgement.
2. You cannot tell much from one win or loss.
