US chess membership

I live in the UK and a few years back managed to acquire a few old Chess Life magazines. I’ve tried to purchase further copies, but the shipping costs are outrageous. I’ve learned though, that if you purchase membership to the US chess federation, they come with membership. Thing is, is membership only open to US citizens?

No, you can get a membership outside the country, but by default it no longer comes with the magazine and is an add-on. It also costs more for members outside the US I believe.

That said, it's available in digital format for members and US Chess has an archive for older PDFs as well open to anyone.

Thanks I’ll look harder. Tried to find the digital alternative, but no luck.

What @Martin_Stahl said, all accurate; I do believe they have a special postal rate for their subscriptions and shipping for merchandise. Inquiring will not hurt it would still be cheaper than paying the regular shipping rates.
