USCF Rated Play on ICC and Chess.com

Agreed with Wafflemaster. Caughtup has a point, it's ludicrous to base a USCF rating off an Internet game because you don't know if their NM dad is giving them hints or are using an engine.
There was a youngster at my last tournament that was "recording" his game with a hand held device... I was standing behind him and saw his mini engine giving moves...

I assume the ratings given will be USCF Online ratings, similar to those given by FIDE Online Arena.

If it were possible to detect more than just the obvious cheaters, then it wouldn't be so bad.
I guess it did say only quick and rapid ratings.

But in the US you can get the NM title playing exclusively 30minutes, that´s counted for standard and for quick.
So you could get your title online.
Unless of course, if I misunderstood something.

well i think that you get a special rating that is stated as online only, so you can not get the NM title, but maybe have a 2200 online rating.

Some time controls only affect standard, some affect standard and quick, and some only affect quick.
From what I remember reading it said this online play would only affect quick.
Or it's something like BulletMatetricks just now posted above this.

Think of the positives, you can sandbag your rating below 1000 and then clean up at the millionaire open

as long as online ratings are separate i don't see a problem as I am not stupid enough to play chess prize tournaments for money online that require an entry fee in tournaments in which engines are not allowed. because there will be cheating regardless of anti-cheating measures, they are too easy to circumvent.
3/0 or faster you can flag engine users with the right skill set --- Elysium is good at doing this to them and it's easy to tell the difference between humans and engines in many cases (especially as somebody who has played some of the best CC and freestyle chess players in the world I'm more familiar of the nuances of chess engines than most). but at 5/0 or longer?? forget it.
if the tournaments are free entry with separate rating i would play with some ethical opponents (not using engines).

yeah that would be pretty cheap of u could get an NM title, dont think u can with separate online ratings.
