Use the handshake icon / emoji🤝 after games, not “Good Game!”

I used to just say, “good game,” after every 3-minute Blitz game and if (a) I had won the game, (b) they’d played poorly or blundered, and (c) they didn’t have the most equanimous demeanor; the opponent would take it as sarcasm and react angrily. Then I was playing someone and I GG’d em and he just did the 🤝 (handshake emoji thingy) and I was like, ooooooh. That’s so much better. It’s a show of respect and politeness that can’t be misinterpreted as snark. There’s too little time after the game to type anything meaningful. You need some quick way to show respect and reset your own equanimity.

Should chess.com make that 🤝 icon more prominent and an easy default after games?

It’s in the chess emojis that appear when you tap on your own avatar in Android and iOS. I believe it’s also accessible on the web version , but have to check. It’s also two different skin tones, which I like. It’s rare that we play against someone who looks like us on this amazing global platform!

Yeah! @manwaeadug, that’s about what I had in mind. Like on the results pop up so as not to make an additional one. Or at least make it bigger than the other emojis and not buried. Also... HAMSHAKE! 😂😂😂

Sadly since coming back, I find to avoid scammers, catphishing and just plain trash talk I simply turned off chat, for everyone except friends and club members. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
