I am a vegeterian since birth but it has in no way helped me to improve my chess.
Vegan or vegatarian chess players

Assuming you eat well, I don't believe eating vegetarian or other specific food will have any impact on your chess. Unless your talking about psychological effects, i.e. being in a good mood because you know you just ate well or similar.

I'm just wondering. Sometimes during games I get easily fatigued. I do take extra vitamin b 12 suplements. I don't care for caffeine products. I guess this is more of a medical issue than anything else.

Thats awesome! For those of who are converts, I'm wondering if it may in fact increase our overall health, are there any negative impacts on one's energy levels, easily becoming fatigued and irritable, loss of enthusiasm etc. Personally, I find myself eating a lot more food and paying attention obtaining balanced meals. If some of these variables are lacking then the consequences are quite evident. But I guess this also applies to the carnivores.

Far too little information to be able to tell. Are we talking I get dizzy, or just in a really complicated position I lose my focus for a move or 2 after a while.
Outside of the chess board do you get fatigued pretty easily? Are you overly stressed, overworked and or don't get enough rest?
Difficult to know even with all that information...But, with just -I get tired in a chess game...

erikido, You might be right. I do stay up late at night practicing chess...probably moreso the lack of rest. I wouldn't say "dizzy" but sometimes I'm playing and it's like these sporadic phases of daze come and go (and by the way I'm too young to be experiencing that). Some of us vegans do look "sleepy" and less energetic at timesI was playing a live game yesterday and totally missed a knight capture by a pawn in the endgame with just a few pieces on the board. After gazing at the board for a few, my opponent was nice enough to show it to me, even though he was losing.
Let's face it. Playing chess can sap one's energy within a short period of time during the game. It's best to take a break as aposed to playing 4-5 live games back to back. I was wondering if there's something missing from my diet why I experienced those feelings.

I've been vegan for 4 years. I feel perfectly fine- Veganism doesn't affect chess performance at all.

I have been vegan for 4 years. My brain arteries have sure cleaned up. Just make sure to take a B12 suplement and eat legumes with a vitamin C source. As easy as that.
Eating extra protein is important for people with adhd because they need more dopamine, which is created from protein.
This is an example, but I guess my point is that food does impact your brain.
We are also very individual in our biochemical make up.
It might be useful for you to introduce and take out certain foods and document the effects.
Also omega 3 is apparently important.
All IMHO

Not something attacking the op.

I'm in an overexplain vortex.

Just a little annoyed that a lot vegans act really annoying (not OP they are fine) I’ve met a lot and a decent chunk fit the stereotype and it’s sad
Hi, are there any vegatarian or vegan chess players aboard? How does nutrition factor into feelings and mood during play?
