Vision
I would have loved to master this coordinates so that I can easily visualize moves when reading a chess book or something.
Without the coordinates, I can pin point the moves, but not just fast enough.

Chess has a lot of hype, like Kung Fu. People flying on roof tops and bamboo trees and lakes and stuff.
And Frank Dux fighting temporarily blind in the "Kumite" and stuff.
Enough of that blind chess non-sense. That is what the board was invented for.
Well, it looks like you've got a case of the FGHS - that's 'F, G, and H Square Blindness Syndrome.' It's a common condition among chess players, don't worry. The best cure for it is to simply shout out the coordinates as loud as you can until they stick in your brain. Don't be surprised if people start giving you funny looks though!
@CountingColors
You make chess players look like a walking cliche.

I get it. When we are young, the world seems big and bad. If only we have some kind of super-power then we can overcome all our problems. That's why children read comic books.
Our real powers are our ordinary powers.
Can't remember your grocery list? Pencil and paper.
You'll be amazed at what your ordinary powers can do.
I'm so happy to have the art of chess in my life. It gave me a foundation to understand so many things.
Chess players can play chess blindfolded. I can do that to some extent (anybody can) when I describe an opening trap.
It is amazing something analogous in another art. Music. Violin.
Deaf music recognition. Incredible.
