Want to know about World Chess Championship

By chance, I have been interested to see the games from the recent World Chess Championship events. Naturally I have searched the games on google. But to my utmost surprise, the games seem to be duels.

Then I went for wiki pages. About the 2014 WCC, the page reads:

The World Chess Championship 2014 was a match between the world champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger Viswanathan Anand, to determine the World Chess Champion.

It made me even more confused. Isn't the WCC a tournament? If so, how can I see the games?

You made me realize that I was never sure either way. I was thinking it was a mini tournament, but I've probably also assumed a lot about the world that's somewhere between not quite true and the opposite of true.

Entirely off-topic but I've always loved Bangladesh's flag. It kind of reminds me of an olive with pimento, and that's a good thing.

No, the actual title match has always been just between the champ and a challenger.  How the challenger has been chosen and the details of each match vary.  Now what you are probably being confused by is the candidates tournament to choose the challenger which is upcoming and should be covered here and there (chess.com mods have gotten very aggressive lately about promoting rival sites so I won't mention them; Google is your friend here...Laughing).  Oh, and I got you a link for tickets in case you'll be in Moscow next month. Wink
