Was _____________ a good sport? Well done chess.com

Well done to the site for implementing this feature. However it only works if this data is publicly visible, so it is easy to filter out the rude players. For instance like with elo range, one should be able to choose what level of 'good sport' players one would like to be paired with.

Is there anywhere to go see the sportiness level of a player. Do extend this to be a publicly viewable number. It would help keep the rudeness in line.

So, what prevents someone from calling me a bad sport just because I beat them?

Thats why everyone must score their opponents at the end of games. That way the trolls will be outnumbered by those who gave genuine vote.

I play computers.. they never do wrong HAHAHA

some humans are trolls...

Right!

Why do you need a computer to "filter out" rude players for you?  Just do it yourself.  You're having brief interactions with people you will never see again, maybe don't let the occasional rudeness burden you irl.

I didn't think of that. Even if they beat me I clicked yes happy.png. I guess I'm just that person.

Wouldn't this just encourage the trolls to each open 100 accounts, so they can outnumber us?

Plain and simple. This notion is WRONG for so many reasons. No need to debate them. A separate but equal pairing pool, if implemented here , will surely be the beginning of the end for CC.

Here's what I would love to see:

Chess.com should impliment a VM (Virtual Machine) Server just for cheaters, trolls and assorted jerks. The guilty parties get shunted over to the Rude Cheating Aggro Troll Server (tm) without being informed of this. As far as they know, they're still logged onto the main server.

... and then they can cheat, troll and insult each other, while the rest of us get on with playing chess.

Wouldn't that be hilarious? I would pay money to see that!

The perfect example was just supplied by MMTMIT.

@ blueemu ... guess what ? shadow banning exists at chess sites.

Avatar of blueemu

Me?

Or MMTMIT?

Or both of us?

Avatar of Titled_Patzer

No. Not you. Don't be paranoid.

Another site "shadow bans". Good idea, except there exists NO recourse.

Ummm... don't tell me chess.com really did implement my suggestion, and we're on the troll server?

Thibault is an exponent of Communism. Whatever he says goes. Contact to express a grievance is non existent.

Avatar of Titled_Patzer

yep emu ... only you and I see this !

With enough computing power you could have hundreds of instances of the server software running at the same time, and as the trolls violate their user agreement again and again, they get plane-shifted deeper and deeper into the Abyss.

Too bad Elon Musk isn't a chess player. He could bankroll that, no problem.

Avatar of Titled_Patzer

Utopian concept. Trust an algorithm to make decisions ?

Besides, Musk is the biggest detractor of AI.

Come to think of it, wasn't there something like this in Brave New World?—in the form of a questionnaire given at the end of each week?

➟ Does Bernard Marx behave like a true α+ male?

➟ Was Lenina Crowne pneumatic enough?

➟ Was Oceana a good belligerent this week?
