It sounds like you need an upgrade in those you play.
Poor sports?
If you make your moves before the time runs out, I don't see the problem. Even if you take 29 minutes to make the first move and then blitz to the finish you are well within the rules.
it is fine if u make ur moves..those who need faster games should prefer blitz or rapid. best is ignore those guys and disable chat if they irritate u..
That same player even taunted me in Hindi (a lanuage I understand). He irratated me to the point where I resigned.
You need to grow thicker skin.
(or disable chat)
As I only like to play 1 hour or more games really, I get a LOT of this.
Its an obvious distraction tactic, if you are not moving, its pretty clear its because you are thinking about your move and they are trying to put you off.
Over the board, they would forfeit the game for such behaviour, and likely be kicked out of a tournament/club for it if they persisted (or worse if they persisted against me with it... how about a punch in the nose for a distraction tactic?) , but its a sad reality of online play that no-ones yet solved.
Its the reason I disable chat when playing, which isn't fair to the 90% of good-natured honourable players out there, but there's not much else to do about it.
I guess I'll disable chat when they start complaning. I usually enjoy a friendly banter though. Most people here have something to teach me.
Yes, Khawer Amir Khan, when somone agrees to play a 30 min game then he has no right to say that his opponent is slow! Just ignore his comments, disable the chat and take your time to play as long as it suits your time limit say 30 or 60 min etc. I wish you all the best, and maybe we will play some day! Thank you,
When banter comes up on your chat you are now playing 2 games. To win the second game a good solid move is 1. disable chat. His response ...Think before you move. You now have a decisive advantage! :)
On the internet I don't mind when an opponent asks if I am still there. I just respond that Im still thinking which they usually respond in kindness, like ok, just checking. Of course this would be during 45 or more minute games. When they respond negatively, then I take out my space modulator and beam them to oblivion....but then the game cannot be completed....so I try to be calm....I certainly would not want someone to steal my space modulator....
Lately, I've been playing the 30 minute live games while at work. Two of my opponents have been complaning that I take too long to make moves.
One even had the audacity to suggest that I not play at work. Hes not my supervisor, my supervisor does not care as long as I get my work done. That same player even taunted me in Hindi (a lanuage I understand). He irratated me to the point where I r esigned.
The other complained endlessly but was actually behind me on the clock. He mocked my "bad moves" but ended up losing to me anyway.
My question is, am I being rude? Surely if they want a faster paced game they are at liberty to chose a 15 minute game or a 10 minute game!
Input will be appricated, I take pride in being a polite person and I dont want to be rude.
