I have never dressed up for a tournment, I usually opt for athletic attire instead. I personally find dress shirts to be very uncomfortable, and I would probably play 50 rating points lower because of this. Maybe I should find out who Fischer's Tailor was, if he never complained... then I could make a movie about it "Searching for Fischer's Tailor."
In most cultures dress is a fairly significant component of physical attractiveness.
In order to get rid of snobbery everyone should play chess naked.
