Good for you Teddy, I could not get over moving the knight, so I could never see the B-sacrifice, i did look at B times the pawn going no where???
Estragon, thanks, I will remember that! great New Year for both of you!!!
Do you realize the road to becoming a grand Master, is not only hard study, but having that special gift to, recognize, conceive, comprehend the art of playing chess to a higher level.
Bringing reality into this place is not looked kindly upon.
fissionfoul, That was a very superior comment!! Ten points! That explains why very little responce to this post! lololo I am going to be carefull from now on. But I do love the humor the English bring to the forums!!!
But you know there is nothing wrong with dreaming, like owning a Black BMW when you only drive a VW Beetle Happy New Year to ya!!!
I have not been here very long Sept 2010, but I am very amazed at how often I read the two extremes, wanting to or anticipating to become a GM, or thinking about walking away from chess because they are not winning. Do you realize the road to becoming a grand Master, is not only hard study, but having that special gift to, recognize, conceive, comprehend the art of playing chess to a higher level. Not many at All have that ability and "never will", but we can still enjoy the game at any of our levels, and improve. Being realistic, will help you enjoy the game more and not pushing yourself beyound your limits.
For me this is the rule, enjoy the game, but do not take it too serious, unless you are a GM and getting ready for the "big" game. I have improved my chess, to where I can see more by studying, you can too, but I will never perceive what a true expert OTB sees. So I know my limits. Heres a good example, 40 years ago I came across this puzzle. And I could not mentally find the answer, alot had to do with what my brain was telling me was impossible and not being able to call upon that ability to bypass what you see, and what really is there. I just found it again stuck in one of my old chess books, and still could not get it!
Here it is, see if you are going to be an expert or above, before you look to see if someone else found the right answer, you try first, and see if you have the right stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
