2. Understand tactics and strategies to put your opponent in a bad position
3. Learn about endgames and how to win or survive with a draw in some positions.
4. Know and predict what's the best move that your opponent will do.
5. And finally, chomp on hanging pieces that aren't a sacrifice to make your position worse.
