they mean how good you are, the more points you have, the worse you are
what do the points on my profile mean?
I think you get 1 point every time you post a comment in a forum, blog, etc. Basically just a measure of how active you are in the community.
Just wondering? I have 315 points but I have no idea how I got them or what they signify. Please help...
they are activity points. you get one every time you comment on a forum thread and stuff like that. they don't do anything other than give you an achievement if you get a lot of the points.

It's enumeration of the debt you have to work off in purgatory.
No point in them, just there to show how active you are but you legit can spam so...
Pun intended?

lol no
The primary intention of points (getting some free, limited in time, memberships) got lost and removed, as soon as the site got plagued with lots of activity only meant to increase them points. So, they disabled any usefulness to it, but left them there, I suppose for "ambient" purposes.
Would Chess.com re-instate any significant value to these points, you'd see very fast and very soon, hundreds of pointless posts an hour in the forum, like really much more than what we can see now.
So, it's some of a lost cause. Cos pipl are nuts at the idea to get "free anything".
+1
